Pigeons ar looking at the rocket launch (2012)
Creation is like an action
plot. Pile of the wooden sticks with bird-like feet that is attached to the wall
might be a rocket. Gray bubbles on the ground - pigeons. Concrete bars - city, an
urban environment paraphrase. And although both groups of actors could promise
the flight, the take off the ground, however the action seems to have remained
stagnant in the very „before“ moment. Rocket has not risen yet and lazily wallowing
pigeons seem to be waiting for its launch... The atmosphere created is melancholic
as well as a bit absurd. It seems that the work tells the story of the attempt of
the sleeping peripheral area to paint its daily life by utopian dreams and
fictitious imaginations. I agree, on the other hand, that the installation of
this type could be seen just merely the play of forms and materials. But then
the wooden sticks may remind of, let us say, huge handmade spears and gray
bubbles may seem like a paraphrase of modernist sculpture. Objects placed side
by side with each other begin to knit an intricate network of associations. The
desire to identify fetters and encourages the viewer to search the reality for
matches for these abstract objects. And so this trap begins to prompt you a story...
