As usually they are towns- ports, 2014
Sometimes
it happens to fall into the drowsing cities that seem to be
waiting until
something happens by itself. As usually they are towns - ports.
Each of the objects moved
to another surrounding, could turn into an autonomous sculpture. Yet here, in
the space of the work itself, they construct a kind of landscape, where the
main character is missing and the time just stopped.
Brick walls, dysfunctional
speaker, lamp hints – like the fortifications of an abandoned city. Disposable
cups turn concrete towers, and the dog's paws, with the fur substituted for
bronze, settle down for a long waiting. This city emerged from the memories and
fiction. It is a kind of periphery, distant, remote area. It is unlikely that
you could define this zone within the geographical aspects. This periphery is
rather quite abstract, created by the long stretches of time, or derived from
own imagination or rephrased memories. This area is transfused with a slow
rhythm. Its inhabitants, try to color the monotony by the fictitious
imagination and dreams. On the other hand, a reverse accompanying feeling might
be available in the periphery – nostalgia felt by someone who has links to the
area. The viewer is a temporary disturbance for this sleeping space. He can
come and fabricate ... say, the wind, which would bring plastic bag from
somewhere, squeeze throughthe lamp holes or through the imaginary speaker and
will "broadcast" a message. However, just after it leaves, everything
dip into blissful stagnation again...
